How to Identify Coyote Tracks (We Think!)

From what we can tell, a coyote visited our pond last week and was kind enough to leave a few perfect tracks behind in the mud. The only indicator that it’s not a coyote is the print’s size. It’s 3″ x 3.5″, which is at least a half inch bigger than what our internet research says is the size range for a coyote’s front paw (the front is bigger than the back). A really big coyote or mis-ID? What do you think?

Stella and Cece show you why we think it’s coyote (and why we’re making sure our cat is in the RV at night).
